商人 移動に便利なように柄をつけた燭台。当時のろうそくは、大型の百目蝋燭一本が当時の大工の日当およそ半分と、大変貴重なものだった。そのため使用済みのろうを目方で買って歩く、「蝋燭の流れ買い」と呼ばれる行商人がいて、ろうのリサイクルを行っていた。
